Great boots but not Toddler size
These boots seem really nice, and our little girl loved the pattern as soon as she saw them. However, while all her other shoes are toddler size 6 and fit fine, these boots are huge by comparison. Today and Sunday are the final days to support the Children's Miracle Network by buying a pizza. Pizza Pizza is running its biannual Slices for Smiles program which sees a portion of the proceeds from its $2 smile pizzas and $4.99, 12-inch medium pepperoni pizzas to the network, which also includes the Children's Hospital. Since 2007, the campaign has raised more than $700,000 for children's charities in Canada.
Blueberry pancake breakfast
Community economic development is tasty on Nov. 4, when LITE (Local Investment Toward Employment) hosts its annual Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast. The breakfast, the largest celebration of community economic development in the country, attracts residents, politicians, and community leaders and features entertainment from musicians including Fred Penner and the Foster Martin Band. Money raised is spent by LITE to buy Christmas Cheer Board hamper items at Neechi Foods, Wolseley Family Place Food Connections project, Native Women's Transition Centre and Fort Whyte farm. Tickets cost $15, $5 for low-income people and those aged seven to 12, and free for children six and under. It is being held at the Indian and Métis Friendship Centre, 45 Robinson St., from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

You can find wide-calf boots online a lot easier than that frustrating trudge from store to store where you've already found out the "wides" aren't really wide enough. Zappos.com has a nice selection of wides in bigger sizes (13!) too.
